Eastside Friends of Music (CGHS Music Boosters) Update
Several parents and family members of Casa music students met recently to hear about plans to reintroduce our Bingo Games fundraiser to the Petaluma Community along with the Petaluma High School Music Boosters. Planning is still ongoing. The bingo games are every Saturday evening...including the summer months. Thank you to those that either emailed Mr. Millard or were present at the volunteer meeting. The Casa Grande High School Music Program will need roughly 24 parent volunteers for this massive fund generator in order for everyone volunteering to have shorter shifts/hours at the Saturday bingo games. This will provide 12 volunteers for each Saturday (two shifts of 6 volunteers each Saturday). It would be two teams of 12 as Casa volunteers would cover 2 weekends each month at the Petaluma High School Music Boosters would cover the other two. The volunteers will include parents/family of both band and choir students. It is expected that each student in band or choir will have at least one parent or family member volunteering for these games. Volunteers must be 18 years old or older. Each family will be sent a sign-up genius once planning is completed and the return date of the games is confirmed to sign up for a volunteer time slot. After some more planning and coordinating, we are hoping to have a fun-filled "mock bingo game night" to train all the volunteers on how to run and operate the games smoothly. Volunteers could bring their families and children to participate in this event as it would be a MOCK game and not real. We will announce the date for this as soon as it is set. It will most likely be very soon after school lets out (May is too crazy currently to plan an event like this). As always, a huge thank you to all of you for allowing your children to be involved with the Music Program at Casa Grande High School. They are wonderful and amazing young adults! I look forward to our partnership as we all work to provide them with an exemplary Music Program!!! Student Conductors Continue to Shine as
They Learn Basic Conducting Skills The students of the Symphonic Band receive very brief lessons in conducting basic patterns in class. On occasion, students are asked to come to the front of the band and be their conductor for one of their daily warm-up chorales. Very fun to do and witness!!!
